Wine and cheese matching

Your favourite wine matched with a great cheese… heaven? Not necessarily! Not all wines and cheeses go together. In fact some pairings can be quite awful. The trick is to select a wine that complements the flavours in a cheese - and that is not always easy!

Learn how to get it right, with this list of classic matches that won't let you down: Kampai's guide to cheese and wine.

The Kampai 'Match Made in Heaven' competition

Share your favourite creation and WIN!

You know what's missing from Masterchef? The wine! What were they thinking? Nothing elevates a meal more than pairing it with the right wine.

We know that many of you love matching food with wine, so here's your chance to share your favourite creation in the Kampai Match Made in Heaven Competition.

The winner will receive a 12-bottle case of boutique wines from the Kampai cellar and free tickets to the Sydney Good Food & Wine Show!

Tempted?

Here’s how it works:

1. Think of your favourite food and wine combination. It needn’t be fancy or a traditional food/wine match. You just need to love it and be able to explain why!  You can even use the recipes on this website to inspire you.

2. Prepare your creation. We are looking for your own cooking here, not a photo lifted from Gourmet Traveller or taken at your favourite restaurant!

3. Take a photo of your finished dish and the bottle of wine you have paired it with. Again, the photo need not be fancy but it must be your original photo.

4. Post your photo on the Kampai Facebook Page. Explain what your food and wine match is and why it works so well.

5. Yes, you can enter more than once.

6. The competition closes on Wednesday 30 June, 2010. The winner will be announced on the Kampai Facebook Page on Friday 2 July, 2010.

Good luck!
